Knai Bang Chatt

Kep

Slip into Knai Bang Chatt’s laid-back vibe and you’ll soon realise why, whilst it doesn't offer the full bells and whistles of a classic Deluxe hotel, it’s still a luxury property in our opinion. It’s so good, you might just end up changing your flight home!

The only resort of its kind in Cambodia, perhaps the world, Knai Bang Chatt consists of three original 1960s art-deco style French villas, each lovingly restored to its former glory. You’ll find your surroundings striking yet minimalist in just the right way. There’s a slightly more glam selection too, with in-villa jacuzzis - perfect for a special occasion.

The ambiance is wonderfully unpretentious; the perfect blend of comfort and serenity. Calming to a T. In our experience, this kind of balance is no accident, but more the meticulous planning of a visionary.

Location

Three hours by road from Phnom Penh airport, beside a wide stretch of seafront. The resort is just a 10-minute walk from Kep’s fine seafood eateries, and right next door to the waterside Sailing Club restaurant and bar.

Why we love it

Discover what to expect from staying at Knai Bang Chatt

Diverse experiences

Given the setting of a seaside village, once described as ‘sleepy’, you’ll be pleasantly surprised by the abundance of activities available to keep you occupied. Spend time at sea, sailing, fishing, kayaking or, if the conditions are perfect, perhaps trying your hand at paddle boarding - arguably one of the trickier water sports to master. Set out for a day of adventure, hopping to lesser-known islands or exploring the wildlife and scenery at Kep’s National Parks.

Take it all in

Dip your toes in the water from the picturesque pontoon jutting out into the sea, take time to soak up the relaxed tone of the place, play ping-pong, or go island-hopping. Make the most of the alluring crab market just a 5-minute stroll away - eating here is a quintessential Kep experience. Not to be missed!

Rooms full of character

We love how each room has genuinely individual characteristics, and when you open up the doors, offers a welcome breeze each evening. Let the balmy sea air glide over you as you fall into a delicious sleep under a net, just the way it should be.

With a key focus on providing university scholarships to underprivileged students in the area, it's fair to say that Knai Bang Chatt is dedicated to giving back and investing in the local community. Just by staying here you are directly helping their work, as 2.5% of your room bill goes straight to the hotel’s sustainability projects.
