The Toum Tiou Tonlé Sap (Phnom Penh to Siem Reap & v.v) - Luxury Back

Ideal for any guests wishing to take things slowly! The Toum Tiou is a stunning wood-build vessel (there are actually two in total) that meanders sedately up or down the Tonlé Sap over a period of three days. During your cruise you will make frequent stops at floating villages, fishing ports, craft villages and places of natural and cultural interest.

The Toum Tiou takes its name from the traditional Khmer tale of two lovers, the Cambodian equivalent of Romeo and Juliet, Toum being the boy and Tiou the girl. These traditionally built boats once plied their trade as a small cargo freighter before being converted to its present day form in 2002. Both are modestly sized with many original features. Cabins feature a great deal of wood and are both comfortable and cool. Each vessel benefits from the safety of a steel hull - especially useful during the summer months when the water levels can be very low. It also has a low draught, which makes it possible to access the smallest of villages.
