The only resort of its kind in Cambodia, perhaps the world, Knai Bang Chatt consists of three original 1960’s art-deco style villas, each lovingly restored to its former glory.
Where to start? The oceanfront retreat is set amidst well-groomed gardens, running down to the Gulf of Thailand. Whilst there is no beach, the resorts long pontoon leads out to deeper water for those that want more than the sumptuous infinity pool provides. Whilst each of the 18 guestrooms and suites are unique in both the layout and furnishings, there is a consistent theme of minimal, rustic, unfussy and calm. The very minimum of amenities are provided and the service is delightfully balanced - attentive without becoming overbearing.
Next door is the waterside Sailing Club restaurant and bar, complete with beach volleyball and sailing facilities. The hotel also has a small spa and a film room-cum-library. Not sold yet? Well slip into the hotels laid back vibe and realise it is just a ten minute walk from Kep's fine seafood eateries and you may be changing your flight home!
