If you find Nick please return him home

During a recent trip to Laos, Nick ventured to Hsipaw for the first time and by all accounts he’s never truly returned. The list of superlatives was as long as it was complementary, with the overall theme being that of a little travelled region of immense natural beauty and equally engaging locals.  The journey there is very much part of the experience, descending deep into the Gokteik George – with the Gokteik Viaduct hanging dramatically overhead – before passing through vast areas of open Shan countryside, with the horizon dotted with golden stupas and villages in all directions.
The town of Hsipaw is charismatic and whilst accommodation is basic it is more than comfortable. Wonderful trails lead directly out into the surrounding hills or you can travel by boat up the Dutawaddy River.
