With nothing but 400 metres of pristine sand lying between the sea and your luxurious villa (or cottage) accommodation, it’s clear from the start that the Sandoway is a little bit special. This remains true throughout the resort, down to every thoughtful detail.
The resort’s delightful, airy spa is set within a lush wild garden. Its tranquil mezzanine library leads onto a sunny wooden balcony, overlooking the sea. When you’re tired of sunning yourself while you read, you could seek out the cool, comfortable 40 seat private cinema. For refreshment, head to the poolside bar, with its sun terrace, or the very good restaurant.
Once you step inside the rooms, cottages and villas, although the specifics do of course differ (with some really special features in the villas, in particular - think Roman-style baths, and an elevated meditation area, accessed by a suspended bridge in the roof!) the overall feel is very much the same.
All rooms are bright and split over two levels, with a spiral staircase creating a real feature. Rich woods, simple fabrics and luxurious but deliberately limited facilities (there is no TV) combine to create an overriding sense of tranquillity.
