The RV Paukan 2007 is essentially a floating boutique hotel, a modern boat with a smart Colonial-influenced aesthetic, with wood-panelled walls and comfortable wicker furniture. Cabins are generous in size, each with luxurious, old world-style fixtures and fittings. Suites aside, the deluxe cabins are the pick of the bunch with their upper deck location whilst superior sit closer to water level on the main deck.
Cultural entertainment can be found on the sun deck - not constantly, but well-chosen and enough to keep you interested, and there’s even a film screening room when simply lying back and admiring the river scenery gets a little too mesmerising. There's also a luxurious massage service in the traditional spa suite on the lower deck.
Food is fresh and excellent, with a good variety of Asian and Western dishes served in the lavish dining room, which has nice big picture windows so you won’t have to stop drinking in the view while you eat. The cocktail bar is also very comfortable and well-stocked, although we suggest that you take your sundowner out on deck - there’s nothing quite like relaxing on the water with a well-prepared cocktail in hand, while the sun dips and reddens in the sky.
