Single storey thatched bungalows fan out either side of the beachside infinity pool, terrace and airy reception. Each has its own terrace, and whilst the garden view rooms are set just behind the front tier, all the suites look directly out onto the Bay of Bengal. You may be starting to get the impression that the Palm Beach Resort is pretty special. You’d be right.
Single storey (aside from the rooftop sunset terrace), laid back and rustically luxurious, the Palm Beach Resort is a very different fish to the large scale resorts located further north along Ngwe Saung beach. Rooms and suites are all spacious, with a small split level leading up to the four-poster; a high pitched thatched roof and the wooden floor both contribute to a natural coolness; and the minimal amenities are just enough to ensure you’ll want for nothing without being overrun by pointless gadgets and that hairnet! There’s a bar, complete with pool table, and a fabulous dining terrace besides by the pool. We can, thankfully, personally vouch for the beach side massage cabana - fabulous!
