Perched on the banks of Kandawgyi Lake, the Kandawgyi Palace Hotel can certainly lay claim to having the most picturesque setting of any hotel in Yangon. Guest rooms are a generous size, with simple but pleasant furnishings, and a suitable standard of amenities. There are also several restaurants and a nice bar on the downstairs floor.
Outside, the hotel really comes into its own, with mature, vibrant gardens initially hiding the tiered swimming pool, terrace bar and a full scale dinosaur…don’t worry - you haven’t switched page - but we’ll leave it to you find out how this creature ended up here.
