Perhaps the dark horse of our Inle Lake favourites, the Inle Resort just keeps throwing us surprises – of the good kind. Many are due to the recent arrival of the extremely experienced manager, whose dedication and Parisian professionalism have reinvigorated the resort.
All the rooms are generously sized, with large windows creating a bright space and offering wonderful views of the waterways in front. The unfussy, traditional-style décor generates a warm, characterful atmosphere. Every room has a private veranda and offers air-con or heating, depending on the season.
There is charming bar and large restaurant with an outside deck - the perfect spot to enjoy sunrise with your breakfast eggs - while, to the rear of the property, there’s a large organic vegetable garden, which was being planted at the time of our last inspection. A particularly impressive and atmospheric spa offers a range of treatments that combine Western and traditional Myanmar treatments.
