The charming Inle Princess Resort is located on the eastern lakeside, with many of its thatched, stilted cottages lining the water, while others, to the rear, offer views across the fields and distant mountain.
There’s a range of room types, offering a variety of views and varied interiors, although all are spacious, bright, and stylish, with private outdoor decking area. Each has a working open fire to help keep you cosy during winter months, and many of the lakefront options have a large window in the bathroom, allowing you to enjoy a soak as the sun goes down.
Wander across the lush, well kept gardens and you’ll find a charming restaurant and bar, with outdoor seating. There is a good vineyard within walking distance, producing perhaps surprisingly good wine, although the resort does have its own rather special “wine cave”, which contains a couple of thousand international varieties. There are several villages nearby, which can be reached on foot or by bike.
