Opened in 2011, the owner of Pin Oo Lwin has clearly foreseen the upcoming demand for a luxurious – non government - choice of accommodation in this charming former British Hill Station. Surprisingly luxurious given its location, the Hotel Pin Oo Lwin consists of 36 deluxe villas, complete with real working natural fireplaces; rich wood floors and panelling; large, bright windows and perhaps the best bathrooms in Burma right now (not hard in fairness!). The overall effect is somewhat reminiscent of an alpine ski chalet, but it works very nicely in this hilly parts.
Elsewhere things continue to impress with an outdoor dining terrace, a Colonial-style bar and lounge and perhaps most impressively an indoor swimming pool (it can reach as low as -2 deg in these parts during the winter months).
