As far as Hilton properties go, this one is truly unique. This traditionally designed resort is modelled on a local Iban village, complete with longhouses. Accessible only by boat, the ‘hotel’ has good facilities (amazing when taking its location into account!), a spectacular sundeck and comfortable, traditionally finished rooms, and local staff who are both friendly and informative on the Iban way of life.
Accommodation consists of traditional longhouse style rooms, many with private balconies, and two-level duplex suites, which also follow a tradition aesthetic but with twice the space. Decor is all about polished woods and plenty of natural light, with minimal but comfortable furnishings.
When you're not relaxing on your balcony surveying Borneo's rainforest, there's a spa, pool and tennis court, and activities such as walking, kayaking or swimming in nearby Batang Ai Lake, and exploring nature trails. Visits to slightly less luxurious longhouses are also possible!
