Explore the cultural diversity of Kuala Lumpur

Why pass over the opportunity for a night or two in Malaysia’s modern day metropolis of Kuala Lumpur?

Despite the high-rise skyline, Kuala Lumpur is a city with a rich heritage and a truly multi-cultural identity. Amongst the city’s highlights is undoubtedly Chinatown with its vibrant atmosphere, amazing street hawkers and traditional Chinese shop-houses. Similarly Little India is a must-see, with more incredible street food, cheap markets and fascinating temples.

Whilst you can’t possibly avoid catching a glimpse of them, few visitors to Kuala Lumpur last more than a day-or-two without actually visiting the remarkable 452-metre tall twins of the Petronas Towers; with the 42nd floor Skybridge offering unrivalled views of the city and beyond.

It’s fair to say that the shopping in KL doesn’t rival that of Singapore or Bangkok, however there are several great malls with bargains galore and also a number of local night markets spread across the city.

Flying via Kuala Lumpur?

It is more than likely that you will be flying with Malaysian Airlines who have excellent links to Indochina, Thailand and Borneo. For most destinations they offer a good connection meaning you do not require an overnight stop, however there are exceptions. Alternatively you may simply decide that you would like to take the opportunity to visit another Asian destination and Kuala Lumpur is always a popular choice.
