Vietnam Honeymoons

There’s something for everyone in Vietnam, which explains why it’s our most popular honeymoon destination. Whether your idea of romance is lying side-by-side on a beach or lapping up the culture in a busy metropolis, this captivating country will sweep you off your feet.

Vietnam is S-shaped, which lends itself to being travelled through. Most start at one end and emerge at the other, tanned and content. With over 3,000km of coastline running almost the entire length of the country, you won’t be short of beach options (and with three separate weather systems running throughout Vietnam, there’s always sunshine somewhere). There’s culture on tap in the city of Hanoi or the UNESCO-protected town of Hoi An, plus adventure in abundance. And you’ll find world-class hotels throughout the country, as well as a number of boutique-style, city-centre properties.

Where to start

Consider first how much you want to travel and how many destinations you’d like to visit. Maybe you want to spend the first few days of your honeymoon in Vietnam exploring Hanoi’s Old Quarter before heading south to the beaches and cultural hot spot of Hoi An.

If relaxation is going to be the order of your holiday, head off to the up-and-coming island of Phu Quoc in the far south or the more established resorts of Phan Thiet & Mui Ne or Nha Trang. Water lovers should set sail around Halong Bay on a deluxe junk or, for the more adventurous, there’s trekking or cycling in Sapa or Mai Chau.

Luxury Vietnam honeymoons

Meticulously furnished in a French Colonial style, the Sofitel Metropole has been a famous landmark in Hanoi since it first opened its doors in 1901. Mai Chau Lodge

The best honeymoon itineraries always include a few days exploring Vietnam's 'great outdoors' and where better to use as a base than the Mai Chau Lodge. Set amongst paddy fields and just three hours from Hanoi, the Mai Chau Valley is a true escape from the congestion of the hectic city streets. Enjoy walking, cycling, exploring hilltribe villages and relaxing by the pool.

Six Senses

Six Senses, Con Dao

Six Senses Con Dao

If the budget allows (and it will have to allow for a lot!) then the Six Senses Con Dao is the resort that's currently turning heads in Indochina. Located on the idyllic sands of Con Son, the uber-luxurious resort is the ultimate choice for honeymooners wanting to avoid the busier sands on the mainland. Think glass fronted villas, private infinity pools, picture-perfect coastline, calming and minimalist interiors.

‘We loved the variety that Vietnam offered us, from the perfect start on a delta sampan to the final few days at Mango Bay on Phu Quoc. Everything in-between worked seamlessly and the food was every bit as good as you said it would be.’
