Visit the Labuk Park Sanctuary

Home to a breeding population of 60 Proboscis Monkeys, alongside many other rainforest species, the 400 acre Labuk Park Sanctuary is a true Borneo success story. Visitors are nigh on guaranteed a close encounter with the endangered monkeys, who come to collect fruit & water left out to supplement their natural diets. Honeymooners can either stay in a nearby chalet or longhouse at Nipah Lodge or in Sandakan town, just 40 minutes drive away. Those staying overnight will probably be woken by the distinctive honks, roars & booms that the Proboscis Monkeys create with their bulbous noses! There’s a variety of other activities if making an overnight stay, including teaching the local school children
