For many it's the sole reason to visit Borneo; for others it's only essential! No-one leaves without a smile on their face & a life-long love of these incredible primates. Borneo offers many opportunities to see orang-utans in the wild, but for a near-as-guaranteed chance of seeing them - & a chance to learn about their rehabilitation - make a bee-line for the Sepilok Orang-utan Sanctuary. Covering over 40sq km of lush, dense, protected rainforest, Sepilok provides a safe sanctuary for the rehabilitation of orphaned & injured orang-utans, who are threatened by the rapid deforestation of Borneo by the oil palm industry.
