Spend an afternoon at the Apsara Art Association
One of our favourite charitable organisations in Cambodia is the Apsara Art Association, founded by the charming Mr Chhay Sopha. Based in Phnom Penh, the AAA is a dancing school set up to train orphans and children from underprivileged backgrounds in the art of traditional Khmer dancing, providing them with the tools required for a future career in the art form. The association also arranges boarding for some of the children, providing them with the family environment they require.
You can include a visit to the dance school to watch rehearsals on most days of the week, alternatively you may be able to see the children performing at various locations across the city.
